How to Recharge After a Stressful Week
Over the 6
Skincare is, obviously, one of the ways I practice daily self-care, but last week in particular really took a lot out of me and it seemed like no amount of masking really helped. Work was stressful, some of my health issues flared up a bit, and I was dealing with some personal stuff. It just wasn't my week at all and I let it build up which even ended up affecting my skin.
In my post about how to survive end-of-summer blues, I wrote about how important it is to plan fall activities to look forward to. So...
When life gives you lemons, go apple picking!
Being outside
As much as I would love to spend all day inside watching Netflix after a long week, I find that my mood is so much better when I spend some time outside. And luckily we had perfect sunny weather yesterday!
Stepping outside of my normal routine
I grew up in the suburbs outside of NYC, and when I moved to the city I thought I'd never look back. And, yes, I'm a total city girl at heart. But I sometimes find myself missing the quietness of the suburbs (and the trees! I really miss trees!). So apple picking was a perfect day trip to step out of my routine in the city and escape to a quieter part of New York.
Spending time with people I love
I see this guy every day, but it still makes me the happiest to spend quality time with him and his family!
I honestly feel so recharged after my apple picking adventure and I'm more than ready to take on this work presentation on Tuesday that's been stressing me out. I not only feel calm and at peace with myself, but I also came back feeling super motivated and inspired.
