Happy New Year's Eve everyone! It's been just over a year since I started Levitate Beauty and I can't thank you enough for all the love and support you've given me this year! I couldn't end the year without giving recognition to my top 10 skin-changing products of 2018. So let's get right into it!:
10. The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%
This serum is making it onto my list for the second year in a row! It's been a weird year for Deciem, and I actually stopped buying their products for a bit this year, but the Niacinamide serum is the one I had the hardest time letting go of. I was incredibly excited to finally have it back in my routine. It was my very first true Holy Grail product ever. Both ingredients work together to reduce blemishes and balance sebum activity, and this has really helped to even out my skin tone and reduce dark spots from past breakouts. I still use The Ordinary's Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% every night, mixed with a hydrating serum.
9. Sunday Riley Saturn Sulfur Acne Treatment Mask
I discovered Sunday Rileyβs Saturn Sulfur Acne Treatment Mask this summer and it quickly became one of my favorite masks. The main ingredients are Niacinamide, Sulfur, and Zinc, which effectively target my breakouts. I highly recommend it to those of you with oily/acne-prone skin because itβs not overdrying, unlike most of the clay masks I use to keep my acne and oiliness at bay. And considering it does contain sulfur, it smells pretty decent, and thereβs only a very slight
8. LifeFlo Tamanu Oil
Tamanu oil has been a complete game changer for me! I heard about it for the first time while watching one of Liah Yoo's videos earlier this year and knew I had to try it out immediately. Tamanu oil is basically a miracle oil! It has amazing anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. It's a great oil for soothing irritated skin, reducing acne, and lightening hyperpigmentation. Sometimes I'll put this on a pimple before bed and when I wake up the next morning it's gone. Seriously, it's that effective! It's also incredibly versatile so I'll also use it when I need to soothe mosquito bites or minor burns.
7. Cosrx Aloe Soothing Sun Cream
After almost two years of searching for a sunscreen that both didn't break me out, didn't make me oily, and played nicely with makeup, I finally found it this summer!
6. Krave Beet the Sun (aka The Beet Sheild)
Krave's Beet the Sun was probably my most anticipated launch of this year and it did not let me down at all. It hits every point of my sunscreen wish list and more. It's lightweight. It has zero white cast. It contains antioxidants. It's super hydrating. And it also doubles as a silky smooth primer if you wear foundation. I'd always thought I preferred matte sunscreens, but Beet the Sun totally changed my mind - I love the dewy glow it gives me when I use it!
5. Sunday Riley CEO
Sunday Riley CEO was my first and favorite vitamin C serum and I've gone through 2 bottles this year. The most common form of Vitamin C is L-ascorbic acid (
4. Farmacy Honeymoon Glow
When Honeymoon Glow launched this summer, I couldn't have felt more neutral about it because an AHA/BHA night serum didn't sound super revolutionary to me. But when the brand gifted me a bottle to try, it only took me one night to realize how wrong I'd been. Honeymoon Glow is a mix of 14% AHA/BHA, Hyaluronic Acid, and Farmacy's signature honey blend. I apply 1 pump of this serum once a week and wake up with seriously smooth, glowing skin.
3. Good Science Beauty 003-Hy Hydrating Face Cream
I have to start this off by saying that Good Science Beauty's entire line has blown me away this year. But their Hydrating Face Cream is the one that I turn to most often. A little goes a long way and one pump is all I need to cover my entire face (I learned this the hard way by wasting 3 whole pumps and realizing I didn't need that much). Good Science Beauty's Hydrating Face Cream uses hyaluronic acid to hydrate your skin and I've been really impressed by how well it absorbs and how smooth and supple my face feels immediately after I use it.
2. Farmacy Honey Potion
I wrote a full review about Farmacy's Honey Potion earlier in the fall and it's still the mask I reach for most frequently. The sticky honey-textured mask lathers into a rich cream and produces a warming sensation when applied, making it one of the most luxurious-feeling masks I own.

1. Krave Matcha Hemp Hydrating Cleanser
If you've spent any time on my Instagram, it should come as no surprise to you that Krave's Matcha Hemp Hydrating Cleanser is my absolute favorite product of 2018. I have so much love for Liah Yooβs skincare brand, Krave Beauty and the airy-yet-jam-like consistency of the Matcha Hemp Hydrating cleanser makes it an absolute dream to use. It has a low pH (5.0-6.0), it contains vitamin b5 to strengthen your skin barrier, as well as mild cleansing agents that are less likely to irritate or damage your skin. It is, by far, the gentlest cleanser Iβve ever used. It also contains antioxidants and hydrating ingredients such as Matcha and Hemp Seed Oil, making my skin feel smooth and hydrated after I use it.
I'll be honest, I love to play around with different types of skincare products, but there are very few days that I feel the desire to stray from my Matcha Hemp Hydrating Cleanser.
