Review: Fall Empties
I realized I haven't posted about empties in... pretty much ever! Part of that is because over the past year I've proudly gone from professional hoarder to KonMari levels of tidy (ok maybe not that tidy, but close!). So I'm terrible at accumulating empties because once I finish a product I dispose of it immediately. (And, no, I don't go around damaging the planet! I always recycle and give empty bottles to friends that like to re-use them for other things.).
Anyway, I decided to save a few products I've finished over the past 3 months or so because I think "empties" reviews are really important! I normally review products after testing them for about 3-6 weeks, and that's typically enough time for me to determine what I think, but sometimes my thoughts change over time.
So welcome to my very first empties post!
Prose Haircare
*Prose was originally gifted to me in exchange for my honest review. I loved the product so much that I'm continuing to write about itΒ because it's truly a great product!
If you're not familiar with the brand, Prose is a New York-based hair care company that customizes each person's shampoo, conditioner, and hair mask formula to fit their specific hair needs. All Prose products are cruelty-free and sulfate-free and you have the ability to make your formula vegan or gluten-free if you'd like.Β You can check out my explanation of their thorough (yet super easy!) consultation process here. Prose says that a bottle should last about 3 months, but since I only wash my hair 1-2 times a week mine have lasted me just over 5 months.
My Prose routine kept my hair smooth and shiny all summer while keeping my natural waves in tact. It was also surprisingly effective at keeping my scalp psoriasis at bay and soothing my scalp whenever I did encounter a

This toner is great for both AHA beginners and acid mavens. The 5.25% Glycolic acid percentage makes Kale-Lalu-yAHA very gentle, incredibly effective and I wake up with smooth, glowy skin whenever I use it. I feel confident that Kale-Lalu-
Drunk Elephant B-Hydra
If you followed me on Instagram over the summer you'll know that my feelings toward B-Hydra are... complicated at best. I've gone through a roller coaster of emotions with this one. At first I was confused that B-Hydra was more of a serum consistency than a smooth gel-moisturizer - which is something Drunk Elephant has since addressed by changing the name of from B-Hydra Intensive Hydration Gel to B-Hydra Intensive HydrationΒ serum.Β
Once I got over the fact that this was a serum and not a moisturizer, B-Hydra did grow on me. In fact, it made my list of summer skincare favorites, because it was the perfect amount of hydration for my skin in the most hot and humid summer months. And the texture of B-Hydra improved significantly when I added in a few drops of rosehip or lapis oil.
But now that I've finished an entire bottle and had time to reflect, what's the verdict...? I liked it, but I wouldn't repurchase. This honestly comes down to the price. B-Hydra is $52, which is to steep a price for me to repurchase considering 1) I didn't love it and 2) I had to add something to it to improve the texture.
Tell me! What products have you emptied recently? Would you repurchase any of your empties?
